"Chairmans Column

I would like to extend a special thank you to all those Lodges who welcome residents to their Lodge meetings, we do like to keep the programme fresh and variable so any Lodge wishing to offer an invitation will be very welcome. The one stipulation is that we do try and keep the meetings within a 20 mile radius of the home to cut down travelling time. Gerald Phillips, Mike Falkner or myself can be contacted with regards to arrangements."

"It was with great sadness that Friends and residents said a fond farewell to Mary Maughan-Otten as she prepared to leave for pastures new. Mary had been the manager of the R.M.B.I. Home at Shannon Court, for too short a time in our minds.
She was a loving and caring person to whom nothing was too much trouble. Everyone she was in contact with became her Friend. She will be very much missed by us all."

"Chairman’s Column
Dear Friends
Well what a time we have had since the last edition of the Journal.
We were delighted that the PGM Eric Stuart Bamford and his wife Libby were able to be present for our annual concert of the Corp of Pipes & Drums and for the PGM to take the salute.
The young music cadets which were drawn from many regiments of the British Military services provided the residents, family, staff and friends with a wonderful evening’s entertainment, we were very pleased that we had decided to erect a larger marquee than usual because we were full to overflowing.
Over 150 people enjoyed the evening and of course with such a success we have already scheduled it into our diary for this year."
